A replica of a Thor’s hammer pendant found in Kabbara, Sweden, dated late 10th century. The item is made of cast, sterling silver. The final touches are applied with handcraft. The back of the pendant is plain.
The thunder god’s hammer – Mjolnir was a very important, and most recognizable symbol of the Viking Era. Warriors wore it around their necks in hopes of invoking Thor’s legendary battle prowess and valor. This particular piece is ornamented with spirals and a raven head typical for Mammen style.
